When Faith Steps Into the Pen

Proverbs 3:5–6

As Christians, we often ask God to keep us safe, but sometimes His answer isn't to remove the danger. Sometimes His answer is simply, "Trust Me and go."

I didn't know exactly how that cow would react. I only knew that standing outside the pen guaranteed one outcome, a calf that would slowly starve.

Faith didn't remove the risk.

It simply made the next step clear.

Today, that little bull calf is nearly two weeks old. He's taking his bottle eagerly, growing stronger every day, and thriving. Every time I feed him, I'm reminded that God often works through ordinary acts of obedience.

Looking back, I don't remember how brave I felt. I remember praying. I remember trusting. And I remember opening the gate.

How often does God place a gate in front of us?

A conversation we've been avoiding. A ministry we've been resisting. A neighbor who needs help. A decision we've delayed because we're waiting for certainty.

We keep asking God to show us the entire path, while He's simply asking us to take the next faithful step.

You may not know what waits on the other side of your gate.

But you do know Who is walking with you.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6
